Chasing 132 to win, Kolkata Knight Rider lost Gambhir early but Kallis and M Bisla made sure that the match didn’t slip away from KKR. The duo added 48 runs for the second wicket partnership before Kallis got out after scoring 31 runs off 38 balls. Needing another 64 to win from last 10 overs, M Bisla and Manoj Tiwary started to approach towards the target with ease but Menaria got the wicket of Bisla, giving some hope to Royals. Manoj Tiwary also got out after scoring 24 off 18 balls and the match was all set for a thrilling end. Shakib AL Hasan scored 16 off 10 balls before getting out but he had done his job well and finally it was Yusuf Pathan and R Doeschate who took their team to 5 wicket win over Rajasthan Royals.
Earlier Rajasthan Royals elected to bat first after winning the toss and despite having a good start with both Rahane and Dravid adding 45 runs for the first wicket partnership in 6.1, RR failed to set a good target. RR fall started with the wicket of Rahane by Shakib Al Hasan. From 45/1 RR were reduced to 49/3 in 8.2 overs and this affected their run rate drastically. Eventually it was S Goswami’s 24 off 22 balls and Owais Shah’s 31 off 33 balls which gave Rajasthan Royals bowlers a total of 131/5 in 20 overs to defend.
