Today in the 17th match of IPL season 5, KKR won the toss and decided to bowl first. Kolkata got the priced wicket of Gilchrist early followed by the wicket of Shaun Marsh. Narine got both the wickets and reduced KXIP to 21/2. Mandeep Singh and D Hussey then played cautiously and took the team 73 before Hasan got the wicket of Mandeep. This triggered the fall of wickets as soon Hussey also got run out followed by P Dogra, D Mascarenhas, Bipul Sharma and Praveen Kumar. It was some good hitting in the last two overs which helped KXIP post a total of 134/9 runs in 20 overs.
Chasing 135 to win, Kallis got out cheaply followed by Gambhir. From 30/2, Manoj Tiwary and M Bisla took the team to 74 before Tiwary got out. KKR were cruising along well before P Chawla got three quick wickets to reduce them to 88/6 in 14.4 overs. D Das along with R Doeschate took KKR inches away from victory but Punjab bowled beautifully in the last over to win the match by 2 runs.
