Rahul Dravid and A Rahane came to open the innings and the duo gave Rajasthan a flying start as they added 62 run first wicket partnership. Even after Rahul Dravid’s wicket (25 off 32 balls), their was no stopping for A Rahane and Owais Shah. The duo hammered every RCB bowler and added 121 runs for the second wicket partnership. A Rahane’s 103 off just 60 balls (12×4, 5×6) and Owais Shah’s 60 off 26 balls (5×4, 5×6) helped Rajasthan Royals post a total of 195/2 in 20 overs.
Chasing 196 to win, M Agarwal and C Gayle added 42 runs for the first wicket partnership before M Agarwal got out after scoring 34 off 21 balls. In the same over, Gayle also got out leaving RCB struggling at 42/2. Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers then came to the center and the duo started to move the scorecard. But Trivedi bowled AB de Villiers and Virat Kohli within the span of 9 runs leaving RCB struggling at 78/4 in 10.3 overs. S Tiwary and M Kaif took the team score past 100 when Siddharth Trivedi got two wickets in the 15th over. RCB needed 91 to win from last 5 overs and had 4 wickets in hand but it was way too much for them and they finally scored 136/10 runs in 19.5 overs and thus lost the match by 59 runs.
