Today in the 35th match of IPL Season 5, Deccan Chargers elected to bat first after winning the toss. Parthiv Patel and S Dhawan added 39 runs for the first wicket partnership before Dhawan was run out. Parthiv Patel also followed him soon and DC were placed at 50/2 in 6 overs. C White and captain Sangakkara then took the score to 83 when Sangakkara was bowled by Rahul Sharma. But this did not deter C White who played superbly for his 46 ball 78 run innings. In the final overs, JP Duminy and Jaggi hammered Pune bowler and helped Deccan Chargers post a total of 177/4 in 20 overs.
Chasing 178 to win, Pune Warriors lost J Ryder in the third over when the team score was just 15. Ganguly and M Pandey then added 28 runs for the second wicket stand before Pandey got out. Uthappa was the next batsmen in and he played some good shots and along with Ganguly took the score t0 73 where Ganguly lost his wicket. The twin blow to Pune in the 14th over tilted the match in favor of Deccan Chargers as both Uthappa and Samuels got out leaving Pune struggling at 91/5. S Smiths cameo of 26 was too little too late for Pune Warriors and finally they lost the match by 18 runs.
