Today in the 23rd match of IPL Season 5, Deccan Chargers elected to bat first after winning the toss. Morkel got the priced wicket of Sangakkara when the team score was just 10. Parthiv Patel and S Dhawan then added 71 runs for the second wicket partnership to lead Deccan’s fightback and just when it looked Deccan Chargers are getting set for a huge score, Nadeem got the wicket of S Dhawan and soon after the wicket of Patel. DC were placed comfortably at 106/3 in 12 overs and stage was set for a good total but superb bowling by Nadeem and Morkel restricted Deccan Chargers to 157/8 in 20 overs.
Chasing 158 to win, Naman Ojha and V Sehwag both got out when the team score was just 15. Struggling at 15/2 in 3.2 overs, DD looked miserable in the run chase but K Pietersen single handily took the team to a superb 5 wicket win. Pietersen remained unbeaten on 103 runs in 64 balls
