Match 41 – Kochi Surprises Delhi with 7 Wicket Win
It was a happy day for Kochi fans as they defeated the Delhi Daredevils by a huge margin of 7 wickets thanks to good bowling and batting by Team Kochi. Earlier Kochi won the toss and elected to field. They got off to a good start as they got rid of dangerous Sehwag and Warner cheaply.Delhi batsmen got starts but failed to convert them into a big score. Venugopal Rao was the top scorer with 40 and helped his team post a total of 140/6 in 20 overs.
Kochi who had lost their last matches in a row were in dire need of victory and 141 was quite an achievable target. They got off to a good start and achieved the target with just 3 wickets down.

Virender Sehwag propelled Delhi Daredevilsto a convincing 38-run win over Kochi Tuskers Kerala with his blistering half century and helping Delhi remain in contention for the next stage of DLF IPL 2011. Sehwag scored 80 in just 47 balls on a wicket which otherwise was very difficult to bat. It was his innings which helped them post 157/7 in 20overs.
Kochi were then left to chase a difficult target of 158 as the wicket was having very uneven bounce but they weer all out for 119 in 18.5 overs. Ravi Jadega was the top scorer with 31 but was not supported well by other end and thus Kochi suffered third defeat in a row.

Ishant Sharma ripped the Kochi batting order and Kochi were left in shambles with 11/6 in 4 overs. Wickets were falling like pile of cards with Ishant Sharma getting 5 off those wickets in just 2 overs. 5 off top 6 batsmen of Kochi were out for a duck. What could have been an easy win for Kochi was finally turned into a bitter defeat due to brilliant bowling by Ishant Sharma. Kochi were all out for a meager 74 in 16.3 overs.
Earlier Kochi won the toss and elected to field. Their decision proved right as they got three quick wickets and at one stage Deccan Chargers were 20/3 in 5.2 overs. For Royals it was an easy win as the openers Dravid (44 off 37 balls, 4×4, 1×6) and Watson (49 off 40balls, 4×4, 2×6) posted 71 in just 10 overs before Dravid was run out by Jadav.
