It was a superb performance by debutant Kochi Tuskers Kerala which helped them upset the party of defending champions Chennai Super Kings as they defeated them by seven wickets with two overs to spare. Previously they had defeated Mumbai Indians and have send a clear message to teams to not to take them lightly.

The match was marred by rain and was thus limited to 17 overs game. Kochi Tuskers Kerala won the toss and elected to field first. Bowlers started off superbly and prevented free flow of runs to CSK. CSK lost M Hussey early but Suresh Raina’s 50 helped them post a total of 121/4 in 17 overs. Kolkata Knight Riders have had the best outing in DLF IPL so far as they restricted Warne’s Rajasthan Royals for a modest total of 81/10 in 15.2 overs and then chased it comfortably in 13.5 overs and won it by 8 wickets. KKR also had a scare while chasing as they J Kallis in the very first over for a duck, but Gambhir and Tiwary played sensible cricket and took the team to victory and also on top of the points table with a fantastic 8 wicket win.

Earlier KKR won the toss and elected to field. Royals got off to a good start as they posted 24 runs in just 3 overs. But it was the 3rd ball of the fourth over which changed the entire game as S Watson was bowled by Balaji. After this the wickets started to fell like a pile of cards and not even a single Royal batsmen could tackle KKR bowling. Menaria was the top scorer with 21 runs where as 7 Rajasthan Royal batsmen failed to score in double digits. From 67/5 in 10.5 over they were all out for 81 in 15.2 overs.
